Joint Training in Combat Search And Rescue

Strategy-Geopolitics reports that before the end of the year Israel and Greece will conduct the second phase of a joint exercise in the Athens FIR. According to a report by “To Pontiki” newspaper the exercise will have two parts. These will be:
- The aerial refuelling of Greek F-16 fighters from Israeli tankers in the area between Kastelorizo and Crete.
- The joint training in Combat Search And Rescue missions (CSAR) with the participation of Israeli CH-53D helicopters. CSAR is an area in which the Greek Air Force has progressed considerably in the last few years and the Air Force’s 31st CSAR Squadron will gain valuable experience with this exercise.
